National Union of Public and General Employees (NUPGE)

NUPGE consists of 14 component unions representing 325,000 members who work to deliver public services of every kind to the citizens of their home province. NUPGE also has a large and growing number of members who work for private businesses.

Office & Professional Employees International Union (OPEIU)

OPEIU represents members across Canada and works to promote and protect the rights of professional, technical, office, clerical and support employees.

Ontario English Catholic Teachers’ Federation (OECTA)

OECTA represents 34,000 English-speaking men and women who teach in all grades in the publicly-funded Roman Catholic schools in Ontario.

ONTARIO NURSES’ ASSOCIATION

The Ontario Nurses’ Association (ONA) is the union that represents 50,000 registered nurses and allied health professionals working in hospitals, long-term care facilities, public health, community agencies and industry throughout Ontario.

Ontario Professional Fire Fighters Association (OPFFA)

The OPFFA represents approximately 8500 professional fire fighters from 74 locals. The primary purpose of the OPFFA is to provide career fire fighters with the highest level of service and expertise to assist them in all aspects of their professional lives.

Ontario Public Service Employees Union (OPSEU)

OPSEU represents more than 100,000 people who work for agencies funded by the Ontario government and for the government itself. OPSEU members are teachers and support staff in community colleges and universities, health care workers, ambulance paramedics, counsellors in centres for the developmentally handicapped, clerks in land titles offices, conservation officers, caregivers, court reporters in provincial courts and guards in the provincial jails.

Ontario Secondary School Teachers’ Federation (OSSTF)

For over 80 years, members of OSSTF have promoted and defended quality education in Ontario. OSSTF has a membership of more than 50,000.

Public Service Alliance of Canada (PSAC)

PSAC is a national union with 150,000 members who work in every province and territory in Canada, from coast to coast. PSAC also has members working abroad in embassies and consulates. Members do a range of jobs from issuing pension cheques, forecasting the weather, operating airports and meat plants, to working in casinos and universities.

Seafarers (Seafarers International Union)

The Seafarers International Union is the largest North American union representing merchant mariners. SIU members sail in the three shipboard departments: deck, engine and steward. They work aboard a wide variety of vessels, including commercial containerships and tankers, military support ships, tugboats and barges, passenger ships, gaming vessels and many more.

Service Employees International Union (SEIU)

SEIU in Canada represents over 80,000 workers in the home care sector, homes for the aged, hospitals, nursing homes, retirement homes and emergency services.

Sheet Metal Workers (SMW)

The Sheet Metal Workers’ International Association, represents 150,000 skilled craftspersons in the unionized sheet metal industry throughout the United States and Canada.

Skilled Trades Association (STA)

The STA’s mandate is to help strengthen our union by supporting our leadership and creating a Skilled Trades Association dedicated to the full employment and the well being of all trades in our plants and across Ontario. We are also committed to supporting our friends in production and being responsible community members helping out where we can.

Teamster (International Brotherhood of Teamsters)

The International Brotherhood of Teamsters, with 1.4 million members is one of the largest labour unions in the world. The Teamsters organize the unorganized, negotiate contracts, protect workers’ health & safety and fight to keep jobs in North America. The Teamsters are committed to enhancing the lives of our members all across North America and to win justice for working families.

Telecommunications Workers Union Canada (TWU)

The Telecommunications Workers Union has a long and proud history of representing communications workers and workers in related fields. We strive to negotiate collective agreements that promote fair wages as well as just and equitable treatment for all. At the TWU, we believe that member participation and input is essential to the successful operation of the organization.

The Bakery, Confectionary, Tobacco Workers and Gain Millers International Union (BCTGM)

The BCTGM represents more than 120,000 working men and women in the U.S. and Canada. The primary goal of the BCTGM is to bring economic justice in the workplace to all workers in this sector and social justice to all workers throughout the United States and Canada.

The Millwrights Council of Ontario (MRCO)

The MRCO represents its membership through the regional services provided by eight local union located throughout Ontario. Today, millwrights are associated with not only major industry, but also nuclear and solar power as well as space exploration.

The Newspaper Guild (TNG)

The Newspaper Guild has more than 34,000 members in the United States, Canada and in Puerto Rico, who work as journalists, in sales and as media workers of all kinds. Guild members are part of many communications media: wire services, newspapers, magazines, labour information services, broadcast news, public service and dot com companies.

The Society of Energy Professionals

The Society of Energy Professionals represent more than 6,000 professional engineers, scientists, supervisors and other professionals.

Toronto Musicians’ Association (TMA)

The TMA is a professional association of musicians in the Greater Toronto Area. It is part of the American Federation of Musicians of the U.S. and Canada. The AFM’s Canadian membership includes 32,000 musicians, 4000 of whom belong to the TMA.

UAW Local 251

UAW Local - 251 was chartered December 7, 1942 and is an amalgamated local situated in South Western Ontario.  We represent workers from automotive, skilled trades, healthcare, councilors, office workers, rail forgings, sports equipment and more.  We are a union for all workers.

UNITE HERE Canada!

UNITE HERE!

The new union UNITE HERE was born on July 8, 2004 at conventions of UNITE and HERE in Chicago.

UNITE HERE now represents 50,000 members across Canada, working in the hotel, garment and textile industries, food service, distribution, auto parts and gaming industries.

United Association of Journeymen and Apprentices of the Plumbing and Pipefitting Industry

The UA is a multi-craft union whose members are engaged in the fabrication, installation and servicing of piping systems. There are approximately 291,000 highly-skilled UA members who belong to 418 individual local unions across North America.
