DRIVE TO WORK TOUR CARAVAN DEPARTS SUDBURY RADISSON HOTEL, 85 ST. ANNE ROAD, SUDBURY: DEPARTURE TIME 11:30 A.M., MONDAY, JUNE 15
(TORONTO) -- After travelling thousands of kilometers in the northwest and northeastern parts of Ontario the OFL’s Drive To Work Caravan leaves Sudbury this morning and heads south to finish its 3,000 tour in Toronto on June 25th.
“We have been to dozens of cities and towns across the north,” said OFL President Wayne Samuelson who launched the tour in Kenora on June 8th. “We saw the effects of the staggering job losses in this part of Ontario and the desperate future of so many cities and towns.”
“We are doing this 3,000 kilometer tour to listen to people and let people who are living through this economic meltdown tell their stories and finally have a say,” said Samuelson. “We will take their stories and messages to Premier Dalton McGuinty. He needs to see and hear the faces and words of the people of Ontario.”
The lead trailer leaves the Radisson Hotel in Sudbury this morning at 11:30 a.m. The OFL Executive Board is meeting at the Hotel this morning and President Samuelson will depart with the Caravan when it heads south.
